It’s almost time for The Handmade Market. Come Saturday, Cobblestone Hall will be packed with talented artists, handcrafted wares, delicious food and drinks, and feel-good tunes!
Once again DJ Suggadelic — aka Erik Sugg or Mr. Erik Storytimes — is taking a break from library rock-and-roll storytime host and his metal band, Demon Eye, to DJ at The Handmade Market. He’ll be spinning a fantastic mix of ’60s soul, ’60s “miniskirt” pop, and ’70s funk.
As always, we’ll have a variety of food and drinks on hand in case you need to refresh or refuel. Tammy Calaway will be back with her Sweet T Cakery treats. Tammy’s known for her cupcakes and whoopie pies, and her confections always include organic, seasonal ingredients. We love that she offers a few options that are vegan and/or gluten-free for those of us with food allergies or restrictions.
Michelle Stees and Jenny Carpenter will be out front at their Monster Cookies table. Have you tried one of these things? They’re huge and scrumptious and include 16 different mouth-watering flavors — some of our favorites are Sweet Tea with Lemon, Chocolate Orange, Happy Trails, and Mocha.
New to The Handmade Market is Event Espresso. Their “coffeehouse on wheels” features made-to-order coffee, including specialty drinks and teas.
Head down to Cobblestone Hall at City Market in downtown Raleigh on Saturday and get your shopping, snacking, and groove on with us! We promise it will be another excellent — and tasty — show!
