The Handmade Market Is Tomorrow!

Join us tomorrow from 10 am to 5 pm at Cobblestone Hall in downtown Raleigh’s City Market for a jam-packed day of shopping with over 50 independent artists, designers, and crafters from around the city, state, and region! It’s the perfect time and place to get a jump on your holiday shopping, and the first 500 shoppers to arrive will get free {and very stylish!} goody bags!

We’ll have early bird shopping again from 10 am to 11 am — for just $5 {cash only}, you get an entire quiet, laid-back hour to browse and chat with the artists. Give it a try!

At 11 am, admission to The Handmade Market is free. In lieu of admission, consider supporting the featured charity, Hospice of Wake County, with a raffle ticket purchase. Your donation gets you a chance to win one of several gift baskets full of goodies from our awesomely generous Charity Sponsors.

We’ll also have homemade treats and coffee from Citizen YogurtSweet T, Slingshot Coffee, and Monster Cookies. So pick up a friend and head down to Cobblestone Hall for The Handmade Market tomorrow from 10 am to 5 pm!

Thanks for supporting the Handmade Market!

and Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Thanks to everyone who came out to our 15th edition of The Handmade Market! On behalf of all the fabulous artists and food vendors, thank you for taking the time to drop in and shop local!

This was our first time offering the Early Bird shopping. Did you partake? How did you like it?

Thank you to those of you who contributed to The Scrap Exchange fundraiser. We raised $241.00 for this great local program.

We had a lot of support for this event, from our fantastic volunteers to our generous sponsors. An extra thank you goes out to our fine friends at Logan’s, DECO Raleigh, OrnamenteaEpona & OakCity Market, The Borough, and Downtown Raleigh Alliance. With the help of all these groups and individuals, we continue to improve The Handmade Market.

If you have a story to share about your day at The Handmade Market, we’d love to hear from you. If you took photos at the event, we’d love it if you’d add them to The Handmade Market group on Flickr.

Stay up-to-date on news about The Handmade Market, including the call for artists and dates for the November 2013 event, by signing up for the newsletter and following us on facebook and twitter.

Food, Drink, Music = Good Times at The Handmade Market

Need a beverage or snack while doing your Mother’s Day shopping tomorrow?  Like good music to shop to?  These fine folks have been hand-picked to keep you fueled up on edible handmade goodness and groovin’ from 10 am to 5 pm.

Slingshot Coffee. Have you tried Jenny Bonchak’s cold-brewed coffee yet? She brews and bottles this magic stuff in small batches right here in Raleigh, using organic, locally-roasted beans from Counter Culture, and she’ll have both the 16 oz. ready-to-drink and concentrate (good hot or cold) options available.  “Nectar of the gods” has been overheard when discussing this brand so be sure to come down and do your own taste test!

Sweet T Cakery. Tammy Calaway, the owner and sole pastry chef at Sweet T, is back again with her fantastically delicious sweets.  She’ll be bringing her beautiful cupcakes and maybe some of those heavenly whoopie pies as well as other tasty surprises.   Tammy’s selections always include organic, seasonal sweets, and she usually brings a few options that are vegan and/or gluten-free for those of us with food intolerances and allergies.  We love Sweet T!

And lastly, we have a new-to-The-Handmade-Market DJ, Erik Sugg, aka DJ Suggadelic, Mr. Erik Storytimes, and “rock and roll library guy” to the masses at Cameron Village Library. He is a man of many talents (just look at his website!) and we are so happy that he is going to spend the better part of his busy Saturday spinning some tunes for us.

Please make some time to head down to Cobblestone Hall in City Market tomorrow and get your cupcake, coffee and groove on with us!  We promise it will be another great show!
