Mikel Robinson is a mixed media artist who creates multi-media pieces on panel, unique illuminated art, and found object jewelry.
What do you make, and what inspires you?
I tend to push the envelope with the term “mixed media”. I work with many different elements including digital art, paint, collage, found objects, and light — but vintage and antique photographs are what really inspire me.
What is your favorite spot or thing to do in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill?
Anywhere within three feet of my beautiful wife and baby boy.
What music do you listen to while crafting or creating?
As of late, my son singing as he plays the best music I’ve heard.
Favorite movie quote:
“Why Ike, whatever do you mean? Perhaps poker’s just not your game. I know, let’s have a spelling contest!” –Val Kilmer, Tombstone
Dark, milk, or white chocolate:
Definitely dark.
Make sure you visit Mikel Robinson’s table on Saturday, November 7 and peruse his mixed-media art and jewelry. |
