Aug 1st, 2010 by The Handmaidens

The Handmade Market will be held at a NEW LOCATION for Fall 2010: Cobblestone Hall in downtown Raleigh, NC.

The entrance is located on Wolfe Street in City Market / Moore Square, Raleigh, NC 27601. Cobblestone Hall is just south of Moore Square in City Market between Martin Street and Wolfe Street. For more info, directions, and a map see here.

Parking

There are a few free parking decks and one paid parking lot near The Handmade Market:

  • City Market Parking Lot: Located right inside City Market, $5 for all day parking, accessible from Martin and Person street at 228 E Martin St. Click here for more info.
  • Blount Street Deck: Located next to City Market in between, and accessible from  S. Wilmington and S. Blount St at 314 S Blount St.  There is no charge on the weekends. Click here for more info.
  • Moore Square Parking Deck: Located next to Moore Square and accessible at 233 S Wilmington St. There is no charge on the weekends. Click here for more info.

Driving Directions

From Chapel Hill and all points West:

  • Take I-40 East to exit 289 for Wade Ave.
  • At the first light, take a right onto Faircloth St.
  • Turn left onto Hillsborough St.
  • Follow Hillsborough St. past NC State and continue toward downtown
  • After passing the YMCA, stay in the right lane to merge onto W. Morgan St. just after the IHOP
  • Follow Morgan St. through downtown Raleigh, about 1 mile
  • Turn right on S. Blount St.
  • Turn left at Martin St.
  • Cobblestone Hall will be on your right

From Wilmington and all points East:

  • From I-40 W, take exit 299 for Person St.
  • Merge onto Hammond Rd. then continue heading north on S. Person St.
  • Turn left onto Martin St.
  • Cobblestone Hall is on your left

From VA and all points North:

  • From I-95 S, merge onto I-85 South in Petersburg, VA
  • Take the left NC Exit 218 for US-1 S Bypass towards Raleigh
  • US-1 becomes Capital Blvd. / US 401 S
  • Capital Blvd. becomes Dawson St. once you enter downtown Raleigh
  • Turn left on W. Morgan St.
  • Turn right at S. Blount St.
  • Turn left at Martin St.
  • Cobblestone Hall will be on your right

From SC and all points South:

  • Take I-95 to Exit 81, then merge on to I-40 W towards Raleigh
  • From I-40 W, take exit 299 for Person St.
  • Merge onto Hammond Rd. then continue heading north on S. Person St.
  • Turn left onto Martin St.
  • Cobblestone Hall is on your left


From Chapel Hill/Durham, Raleigh, or South Raleigh WEST: Take 40 East to the Person Street/Hammond Street exit (exit 299) and turn left onto Person Street. Follow it into downtown and turn left into the parking lot behind City Market at Person and Martin Streets.

From North or East Raleigh: Take the Glenwood Ave. exit off the I-440 Beltline and head east towards downtown. Follow Glenwood Ave. to Hillsborough St. Take a left onto Hillsborough St. then a right onto Salisbury St.. Follow Salisbury St. to Martin St. and take a left. Go a couple of blocks and City Market is at the intersection of Martin and Blount St.

If you are already in downtown Raleigh: Located four blocks from the new Raleigh Convention Center and two blocks from the Marriott City Center and Sheraton Hotel
