Staci Phebus from Juniper Bay Metals
Describe your style, influences, inspiration, and what you plan to bring:
My design style is a mix of organic and industrial, and is steeped in the brackish waters of coastal NC. I find inspiration in interesting gemstones, natural textures, and cool sea creatures. My current bestsellers are turquoise rings, rose-cut gemstone studs, and one of a kind necklaces.
In your experience, what has been your best venue for selling your work:
Craft shows and Instagram have been the best avenues for my sales. There’s a lot of value in the exchanges and trust that can be built between folks in both these settings!
Which artist at The Handmade Market are you excited to see/meet?:
I’m excited to see what Shannon Newlin brings to market. She’s one of my fave NC artists, her work always “wows” me!!
What is your favorite way to put yourself in the mood for creativity?:
I can’t seem to get down to work until I tie on my work apron! I usually throw open the studio windows, burn a little incense, and get couple a podcasts queued up. And maybe make a couple of lists to clear my mind. If I’m feeling uninspired I will choose to begin with repetitive tasks – making jump rings or ear wires, say – until I get into a groove. Once my brain and hands are in sync the ideas generally begin to flow. That is what this is all about!!!
