Friends of The Handmaidens

The Handmaidens are a collective of seven North Carolina artists, designers and crafters who create handcrafted adornments for body and home. Formed in 2004, the collective works together to participate in local and regional shopping events and trunk shows.

In May 2006, The Handmaidens produced their first sponsored shopping event, The Handmade Market. Featuring 40 independent designers from North Carolina and beyond, The Handmade Market provided the Triangle community with an unique opportunity to support and discover the flourishing local and regional independent art, craft, and design scene.
